If you’ve ever been skiing or snowboarding then you’ll likely know the rewarding feeling that the first few sips of a refreshing cocktail can bring you at aprés. It is unfortunate, however, that many cocktails can seem refreshing at first but once the wave of refreshment has crashed over the beach of well-worked muscles and you begin to focus on the flavors many cocktails will often seem watery and flavorless.

Welcome the Smoked Bomani Mule, whose flavor profile was created to be refreshing to the last drop! That last drop also leaving you wanting another! This cocktail isn’t just made for the base of the ski slopes and can provide the ultimate refreshment on both hot and cold days, both after physical activity or when there is no physical activity involved at all!

Smoked Bomani Mule

  • 1oz 400 Coñejo espadin mezcal
  • 1oz Bomani
  • 2 Droppers of Bittermens hellfire habanero shrub
  • 0.5 oz Lime juice
  • 3oz Barritts ginger beer

  • Glass: Copper mug
  • Garnish: Lime wedge
  • Method: Build over ice in a glass.

Why This Cocktail Works

The Smoked Bomani Mule is sweet, soft, and supple. There’s a fresh fruitiness, mainly of crisp apple, to this cocktail. The Bomani element of this cocktail brings all the ingredients together throughout the sip and a slight smokey heat finishes this cocktail out as the mezcal and habanero shrub combine to make this cocktail dance on the tongue.

Where and When

As with all mules, the Smoked Bomani Mule is a refreshing drink that is best enjoyed as a cooler in the sunshine or after some great physical activity. This particular mule is especially rewarding after a hard day on the slopes skiing or snowboarding, but can be drunk on the beach after a surf, at the bar after a day on the climbing wall, or even on the golf course in the sunshine!
