Fresh from a sumptuous dinner you place yourself in the lounge, whether it be of a restaurant, a hotel, or your own home, and wonder what you should drink next. The sweet tang of dessert still lingers in your mouth and your mind drifts to a dessert cocktail that is voluptuous yet, at the same time, full of deep, rich, and contrasting flavors.

Jägermeister is an ingredient which rarely makes it into cocktails and one that seems to be very at home in a shot glass. However, as the customer’s perception of digestifs changes so is their acceptance and willingness to drink cocktails which include these ingredients. As a digestif, Jägermeister is made to be enjoyed post-dinner, but its inclusion in cocktails can show people just what this spirit has to offer.

Bomani Delight

  • 1.5oz Jägermeister (straight from the freezer)
  • 0.5oz Chambord
  • 2oz Bomani
  • Glass: Cocktail glass
  • Garnish: Skewered Raspberry
  • Method: Shake all ingredients and strain into a chilled glass.

Why This Cocktail Works

The rich, herbal elements of the Jägermeister play with the earthy flavors of the coffee, whilst the Chambord picks up on the fruit notes of both and adds a voluptuous body to the drink. The flavors of all three ingredients linger and intermingle long after the drinker has finished a sip. When strained from the shaker into the glass this drink has a gentle fizzing sound to it as it settles like a nitro beer.

Where and When

As aforementioned, this digestif based cocktail is a great after dinner drink, combining sweet with savory for a sensational cocktail expereince. Past this, this cocktail, unlike many dessert cocktails, is one that can be enjoyed late into the evening, and is not too sweet and overpower to be enjoyed back, to back, to back.
