The most popular rendition of the story relating the invention of “THE” Irish Coffee involves it being created by a head chef for some airline who’d just arrived at a very chilly Limerick flying boat terminal. As expected, this comfortable, warming beverage has now traveled around the globe, becoming a familiar fixture on winter cocktail menus.

These repeat appearances mean that the Irish Coffee has been remade, refocused, and recreated on many occasions, but it is only on very few of those events that it has been transformed into an excellent cold drink, especially a martini. BOMANI infused cold brew helps to perfect this coffee cocktail, where it’s naturally sweet flavors negate the need for the additional sugar called for in this variation of the Irish Classic.

 

The Irish Coffee Martini

  • 1.5oz Powers Irish Whiskey
  • 3oz BOMANI
  • 1oz Fresh Shaken Whipping Cream

 

  • Glass: Cocktail glass
  • Garnish: 3 Coffee beans
  • Method: Shake the whiskey and BOMANI then strain them into a chilled cocktail glass. Shake the whipping cream until sufficiently whipped. Pour over the back of a spoon and float on top of the drink. Garnish.

 

Why This Cocktail Works

This cocktail is refreshingly smooth yet still strong; just like a martini should be. Sipped through the cream this cocktail is more coffee based and stronger. When sipped with the cream this cocktail has a decadent mouthfeel, partnered with an even smoother taste.

Perfect for after dinner scenarios, the Irish Coffee Martini is a more elegant version of an often poorly rendered classic. As this is a cold drink it also fits excellently whenever one is looking for a classic pick-me-up and it is perfectly fitting for après ski.
