On those blissful weekends, evenings, afternoons, where there’re are only a few wisps of cloud skittering lazily across the sunny sky, no worries to cloud your mind, and rest, relaxation, and fun are all on the cards, only the most refreshing of beverages will do.

Hard seltzers might’ve been the hit last summer, and they may have started this summer strong, but your palette is craving more than a lightly flavored sparkler. Ginger beer is always a great idea you think as your eyes close and your mind floats off, conjuring images of Moscow Mules in copper mugs sweating in the sun. As if reading your mind your friend touches you lightly with the cold side of a beverage container. Cracking your eyes you see a copper mug, sweating and extended toward you. “Moscow Mule?” you ask excitedly sitting up and take it.

“No. It’s My Refresher” your friend says, winking and cheers-ing your mug with theirs.

My Refresher

  • 1.5oz Camarena Silver Tequila
  • 1oz Bomani
  • 1 Dash Angostura bitters
  • 3oz Barritts Ginger Beer

  • Glass: Copper mug
  • Garnish: Dehydrated lime wheel
  • Method: Build drink in the glass over ice. Stir gently and garnish.

Why This Cocktail Works

The spicy and fruity characteristics of the ginger beer are respectively softened and enhanced by the flavors of Bomani cold brew. These flavor combinations are balanced by the body and flavors of the tequila. The dash of bitters helps to bring the spice from the bitters through all this, enhancing the rest of the flavor profile. Overall, this beverage is soft, supple and extremely refreshing; hence the name!

Where and When

This cocktail goes down a storm anywhere the sun is shining! Be that poolside, on a beach, at a tailgate, on a boat on the golf course; we’re not joking, literally anywhere the sun is shining. It is also a great cocktail for picking yourself up after a long shift and is also just as good when the sun isn’t shinning and you need a bright and refreshing pick me up.
