Hanging out in your aunts garden one afternoon she asks you if you’d like something a little different from the standard rose wine. You gleefully respond with a yes because, whilst the rose is nice and all, it’s getting a little old and you’ve recently been loving the cocktail vibe you’ve had at home. She disappears with a spring in her step, obviously excited about something.
Once you’ve watched her enter the house you lie back and close your eyes, taking in the weather on this greatly relaxing afternoon. Too soon you hear a door open and then close and your aunt is back, chattering to herself as usual.
She hands you a cocktail and, with a glint in her eye offers you a cheers, never once stopping her chatter. She’s telling you how proud of herself she is and how easy this cocktail was to find and make. It’s on the website of this new spiked cold brew that she’s fallen in love with and she particularly loves their vanilla flavor. That’s what is in this she explains excitedly, and takes a swig of hers.
You sip yours and your tastebuds alight! You perk up and agree with her chitter chatter, it’s a great cocktail, of which you could drink many! She leans in and tells you that there’s a punch bowl of it in the fridge, all you have to do is add the tonic!
A Great Day
- 1oz Bomani Vanilla
- 1.5oz Grapefruit Juice0.75oz Campari
- 0.75oz Campari
- 0.25oz Simple Syrup
- Tonic Water
- Glass: Collins
- Garnish: Orange Wheel
- Method: Build over ice and stir gently
Why This Cocktail Works
This refreshing beverage starts with notes of tonic and grapefruit. Next comes a full mouthfeel from the simple syrup and the Campari. Bubbles and notes of quinine from the tonic water lift this up before laying it down with soft notes of grapefruit joined by hints of vanilla and coffee.
